Alcossebre
Alcossebre is full of life with its Annual Fiestas
Wednesday, 11th September saw
the start of the Alcossebre Fiestas. The
programme started with a street procession joined by a large number of people
from the associations.
The procession started from the Tent Area,
lead by the newly named giants, Amparo and Joan, followed by the music of the
Cocoloco xaranga, and with the Dolçainers i Tabaleters “Lo Xular”, the Charity
Shop, the Alcossebre Singers, the Alcossebre Players, the Alternative Bulls and
the “Els Babarots” Stiltwalkers all taking part.
This was followed by the traditional
cutting of the ribbon by the Festeras and the opening of the tent area along
the Paseo Maritimo, which will be open until Sunday, 15th
September. During his opening speech,
the Alcala mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, invited everyone, residents and
visitors, to enjoy a few charming days and get to know all our festive
traditions.
