Alcalà de Xivert
Second year pupils at the “Lo Campanar” junior school visited the Sierra de Irta Natural Park
Event financed by the Friends of Alcossebre
On the 5th February, second year pupils from “Lo Campanar” in Alcala de Xivert went on a trip to Peñíscola for an environmental educational day in the Sierra de Irta Natural Park.
Once they arrived there, the pupils could watch the different sorts of birds to be found inhabiting this area, which was why the outing had been organised.
Accompanied by a member of the Park staff, they learned more about the life and habits of the sea gulls, the cormorant and the common duck or ‘green neck’.
It was a very profitable and entertaining day, with the children able to develop their attitudes of respect for the animals in our surroundings.
All the second year children were able to take part in this activity thanks to a donation from the Friends of Alcossebre association.
