Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council is employing new technologies to promote the town

[Img #30369]This was announced at the presentation of the new application which will enable people to make virtual visits to the town’s principal attractions.

Mayor Francisco Juan Mars announced that “with this new tool we want to let people learn about the wealth of our town and to make tourists and visitors interested so that they come to our town as a tourist destination”.  And he added that “Shortly, from anywhere in the world using a computer, tablet or mobile phone, you can visit the principal tourist and cultural attractions in Alcala and Alcossebre”.

During the presentation the new, novel application was demonstrated which can be used to visit interesting places, from spectacular views of the Xivert Castle and the Armoury Square, to the panoramic view of Alcala de Xivert, views on foot in the Church square and aerial views of the whole town and the bell tower and church, with the Google streetview technology and 360º panoramic views.  The interior of the St. John the Baptist Parish Church can be seen for the first time, showing the impressive statues at the entrance to the church, the chapel, the altar and the retro choir behind the altar, which has rarely been accessed before - all from your home, on your computer and with great quality pictures.  It is possible to zoom in on the pictures and to visualise each of the works which show our heritage.

The new application will be shown in Alcossebre on Wednesday, 26th February, at 17:00h in the Alcossebre Pensioners’ Hall.
