Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council has carried out Improvements to the Las Fuentes Beach

This is a unique beach in the Valencian Community with fresh water springs surfacing. These arise because of the natural aquifers existing in the subsoil, forcing out fresh water streams on to the surface.

The Mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, stated that “the work being carried out consists of removing the excess sand at the entrance and spreading it over the beach in grooves to look better and help it dry” and he added that “we thus hope to obtain the necessary means to keep the beach in a perfect state so that when the good weather comes, both our residents and our tourists can enjoy this unique beach”.
