DOÑA BLANCA GOLF

The Diputación will facilitate negotiations for the Doña Blanca Golf project with Russian and Chinese investors

An investment of some 50 million euros is needed according to some of the companies which have shown interest in this project.

The initiative taken by the Castellón Diputación to finance the presence of companies from Castellón in the biggest world fair for the housing sector is going to facilitate the Doña Blanca Golf negotiations mainly with Russian and Chinese investors.  This is one of the aims of the president of the provincial institution, Javier Moliner, by supporting the presence of Castellón developers at MIPIM in Cannes through the Tourism Board.
Of the three golf projects which are already poised to proceed – the other two are in Sant Jordí and Burriana – that in Torreblanca will be presented at the international fair with all the necessary steps in place, which is fundamental for some investor of the 4,000 investors and financial companies which will be in France to decide to invest in the Doña Blanca Golf.
It is planned to open the financial tenders from those companies which aspire to develop and build this important tourist facility for Castellón within the next week, which will enable the developer who provides it to attend the Cannes fair next month with the requirements fulfilled.  This is fundamental, as the investors with whom they wish to negotiate in MIPIM demand guaranteed projects, as is the case for the Doña Blanca Golf, which has all the licences but lacks the finance which it is impossible to find in Spain at present.
In this case, investment of nearly 50 million euros is needed, the figure which is within the reach of some of the companies which have shown interest in this project.  Both the companies developing Sant Gregori in Burriana and Nueva Panorámica in Sant Jordí are also hoping to find finance in Cannes.
The president of the Diputación, Javier Moliner, has announced in Torreblanca that it will finance the presence of APECC in the MIPIM Fair in Cannes, which is the biggest international forum for the building sector.  “It is very important to get out and about to sell the province of Castellón - we cannot just sit with our arms folded.  And if there are no investors here who can move our projects forward, then we must go and look for them elsewhere where we can find them.  Besides, the Torrenostra golf course is only ten minutes from the airport and is next to the Mediterranean.  This is an attractive Plan for foreign investors and will encourage them to support the creation of hotels.  We need to attract the attention of tour operators which specialise in this as golfers require a network of courses within a few kilometres from each other so that they can play on different courses during their holiday stay”, he said.
Javier Moliner pointed out that “Torreblanca is one of the best towns at carrying out the requirements for coming out of the crisis soon.  The Doña Blanca Golf project has been practically the only one which has been able to overcome the pitfalls of the crisis and to continue moving forward.  Thanks to an entrepreneurial council and some visionary business men who are in line with the Diputación in their support for quality tourism, the engine is needed to drive the economy and employment, not only locally, but within the administrative area.  Wealth for Torreblanca is guaranteed, not only when the project is completed, but during the years while it is being constructed.  We are looking at future tourism, but until we get there, at the hundreds of jobs which will be created with the development of the project”.
The Tourism Board has contracted a stand for APECC and it will be presented under the “Castellón Spain” banner.  In 2011, 18,622 professional participants, 6,400 companies 1,833 exhibitors, 4,031 financial and investment bodies, 166 hotel chains and 407 cities took part.  The aim of the Tourism Board and APECC is to present the approved golf course Plans (Torreblanca, Burriana and San Jordí) at this fair to attract the attention of investors who are ready to develop them.
The Doña Blanca Golf course project includes the development of nearly 2 million square metres with an 18 hole golf course.  This space will be shared by the course and 4,319 homes (divided between houses and apartments), many of which will be on the sea front.  Doña Blanca Golf will be mainly for clients of a medium-high economic level, will have a complete range of services such as commercial centres, restaurants, three hotels, tennis courts, football pitch and several green areas, in accordance with the project drawn up by the builders and Torreblanca Council.
