Alberto Fabra, President of the Generalitat Valenciana, states that L’Oceanografic has a strong position as an international tourist attraction and exporter of the Valencian Community image.
He pointed out that the marine centre has received 12 million visitors since it opened in 2003. He also said that the City of Arts is the most visited leisure and culture complex in Spain, with 47 million visitors. He is encouraging Valencians and tourists to visit L’Oceanografic to celebrate the 9th anniversary of its opening.

The President, Alberto Fabra, has stated that L’Oceanografic has become a national, European and world tourist attraction and exporter of the Valencian Community image.
The Generalitat President said this after visiting the Marine Park, the biggest in Europe and one of the largest in the world, which celebrated its 9th anniversary during the weekend of 11th and 12th February with half price entry.
He congratulated the City of Arts and Sciences and pointed out that L’Oceanografic has received 12 million visitors during the nine years.
At the end of his visit, President Fabra said that the City of Arts and Sciences is the most visited leisure and culture complex in Spain, visited by over 47 million people since 2003, and he added that the industry around this tourist attraction generates more than 160 million Euros a year and provides work for more than 3,400 people.
Regarding L’Oceanografic, which has more than 45,000 examples of over 500 species, the President pointed out that it is an international centre regarding biodiversity, research and reproduction techniques. He added that the marine centre “is one of the most important activities in the Community” and pointed out that “we are established internationally for our research”.
