The Alcala de Xivert Amas de Casa celebrate their patron saint’s festival

The Amas de Casa Association paid homage to their patron saint, Santa Águeda.  With a full programme of events, the Alcala group enjoyed their fiesta amidst a wonderful atmosphere.
More than a hundred members were accompanied by the mayor Francisco Juan and representatives of his council on a day when in spite of the intense cold the town suffered that weekend, everything turned out perfectly.
After a service held in the San Juan Bautista church, the rest of the events took place in the Pensioners’ Hall.  A play, music, gastronomy... nothing was missing from the evening.
The teacher who gives the cookery demonstrations which the Amas de Casa hold, was also in charge of serving a succulent supper for all the members who took part in the Santa Águeda celebrations.
