The presentation of the Passion of Christ and the Trenca de l’Hora were principal events in Alcala de Xivert on Good Friday
As has become a tradition in recent years in Alcala de Xivert, each Good Friday the “El Repiquet” Group of Drummers is present.

This year the Alcala de Xivert drama group added scenes representing the Passion of Christ. This was something new for these amateur actors, and was watched by a large crowd of people in the Plaza de la Iglesia, all of whom had looked forward to the play with great anticipation.
The organisers said. “This year we are performing only four scenes, and next year we hope to add three more, gradually increasing the performance”.
After the passion play, it was the turn of “El Repiquet” to make the square vibrate with the roll of their drums, before they processed through the town.
