The Sierra d’Irta Gastronomic Festival will celebrate local products in Alcala de Xivert and Alcossebre

Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre council, jointly with the Municipal Tourism Department, is organising the 2014 First Sierra d’Irta Gastronomic Festival, which will be held in various local restaurants between the 31st May and 15th June.
The original feature of this gastronomic festival is that ingredients will be used which are locally produced in the town or the area. The dishes being served in establishments in Alcala de Xivert and Alcossebre will be specially prepared so that diners can appreciate these ingredients.
The main purpose of the Festival is to stimulate local tourism, extending the tourism season with events which will encourage people living in the province to visit sooner. This should extend the season and will improve the economic activity in advance of the summer season.
