From the 5th to the 7th September Alcossebre reverberated to the sound of engines, shining chrome, leathers, petrol and rockabilly, during the celebrations of the 11th Harley Davidson and Custom Bikes Rally organised by Custom Maestrat.
Over 1,600 people registered and more than 2,000 people took part, in addition to the crowds of the public who packed the front. These numbers, increasing each year, mark the success, repeated year after year, of this biker reunion, which is now not just a provincial major attraction, but a national and international one. Also, it can be assumed that Alcossebre is the most important rally held next to the Mediterranean, along the Paseo Marítimo in the coastal town. This becomes the home for these marvels of engineering, with their spectacular designs and customisation, which attract a public full of amazement to gather in the closed-off bike park during the three days.
Those taking part enjoyed prepared bikes, Harley Freestyle Choppershow exhibitions, the tour through the Sierra d’Irta to the Santa Lucia chapel, as well as taking advantage of the Alcossebre beaches. There were also classic cars on show, such as the mythical Ford Mustang and the powerful new versions of the Chevrolet Camaro.
The Alcossebre Harley Davidson and Custom Bike Rally is also remarkable for its Rockabilly Festival, with dancing to the rhythms of bands such as the Lobos Negros, Lewis Enma & the Bcn Firewalls, The Ladies and the Gene Cats. A unique musical event at this type of bikers’ event, giving this rally its own personality and which, having this year reached more than its 10th anniversary, is now getting ready for its 12th year in 2015.
