A Funny and Entertaining Carnival at the Alcossebre Pensioners´
The Alcossebre Pensioners are said to be quite energetic, so you can easily imagine the great fun we all had when celebrating Carnival on Sunday evening, February 26th, the first Carnival held in the new premises which allowed more members to take part.
160 pensioners gathered in the big room, once more beautifully decorated by Anca while Sebastián presented us with a delicious tasty meal.
Most pensioners decided not to dress up, but fortunately the number of fancy dresses is increasing from year to year, beautiful, funny and imaginative dresses which made the tables more colourful.
After supper the dance floor filled up with all those in fancy dress who started dancing around to the sound of music; lots and lots of twists and turns, so the Jury had plenty of time to decide about the prizes, while the rest of the pensioners, „the spectators“, had a great time enjoying the dresses which now and again caused hilarity and made everyone burst out laughing.
Same prizes as every year: three each for the sexiest fancy dress, the most imaginative one and the best couple.
Joaquin Puig was sure to win another first prize, and so he did, this time for the sexiest fancy dress, a beautiful, attractive belly dancer whose only „real“ outfit was the belly. Another first prize went to her Royal Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth, and to a couple of blacked up characters from the deep South, with a wonderfully real „exuberant“ Mammy.

After several hours of dancing Carnival finished at about 12 o´clock.
