Preparations for safety on the beaches are ready for Easter Week in Alcala-Alcossebre
The Council has already installed the special equipment for Easter Week, ready for the arrival of tourists and visitors. On the beaches, the Council and the Red Cross will provide life-saving and rescue services from the 19th March until the 3rd April, from 11am to 6pm on the Cargador and Romana beaches. The unit includes a Basic Vital Support ambulance, two jet-skis and a team of twelve, among whom there are five life-savers. The beach cleaning team is also up and running and will operate during the same period. The addition of the Las Fuentes medical centre being open will reinforce the central Alcossebre health centre.
The Services Councillor has also recently taken on a special cleaning operative for the centre of Alcossebre and the most frequented areas so that this nucleus is kept in the best condition.
With regard to the security team, there will be special Local Police controls to regulate the traffic coming into Alcossebre, particularly on those days when the influx of visitors is expected to be greatest – such as Friday 18th March and from Thursday to Sunday during Holy Week. There will also be four additional police officers per shift, particularly to control the ‘blanket-top’ sellers.
Mayor Francisco Juan stated that “we are strengthening our services so that Alcossebre is ready to receive the incoming visitors, as their number increases considerably at this time of year, but, at the same time, we do not forget the Alcossebre residents and we constantly look after their interests and needs”.
