Council Cultural Department supports this year’s fifth Alcossebre En-Cant performances
New this year, one of the concerts will be presented with the Alcala de Xivert Church as its back-drop
Through its Cultural Department, Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council is again supporting the Alcossebre En Cant concerts. Since 2012, this series of live concerts, combining classical and lyric music with workshops and activities related to music, has been held in different open air locations and buildings in Alcossebre. This year’s innovation is that the concert on 14th July will be held in the Church Square in Alcala de Xivert, starting at 22:00 hours, with music performed by the Orquesta AB Camara Ensemble.
The series starts on the 9th July with a lyric gala in the Alcossebre Sant Benet Pensioners’ Hall, to be followed subsequently with a varied programme of concerts including a piano recital, Tango Night performed in the Santa Lucia chapel patio, a viola, saxophone, voice and piano recital, and silent film with piano accompaniment. The last concert will be that in the Alcala de Xivert Church square.
Culture councillor, María Agut, stated that “we believe that it is important to provide continuity for events which are already well established such as Alcossebre En-cant, which also adds cultural attractions to our summer programme”.
