The coastal path is being re-built in Alcossebre
Work has commenced on the Romana Beach.
A team of workers have been at work on the Romana Beach to re-build the worst affected sections of the coastal wooden walkway. The heavy weather in January caused serious damage along the coast, with waves ruining part of the route. Having acquired the necessary materials, work started to install them and return the walkway to its original format.
This walkway links the Romana Beach to the Cargador Beach. The places worst affected by the force of the sea were a platform next to the shore, as well as the connections to it. Following the meteorological phenomenon, employees of the Tragsa public company removed the unserviceable pieces and were then able to proceed with the work.
At the same time, Costas is carrying out work so that the bathing areas will be in the best possible condition for Easter. It is some weeks since work started on the Cargador beach.
Meanwhile, the Council has also organised the clearance of the Las Fuentes beach, removing rocks and cleaning the sand. Regarding the showers, foot showers and children’s swings, etc., the council is working to reposition them so that, then, the Valencian Tourism Agency will make a grant for the work, as set out in the protocol prepared after the storm.
