Alcossebre reached 97% occupation during Easter
The activities organised by the Alcala-Alcossebre Council were well attended
Hotels and camp sites in Alcossebre reached 97% tourist occupation levels during Easter, according to figures collected by the Tourist Information centre, without taking into consideration the arrival of visitors in tourist apartments and second homes. The figure was two points higher than that achieved the previous year, which supports the dynamic increase regarding occupation along with the rest of the Comunitat Valenciana coast.
Tourist councillor, Alejandra Roca, pointed out that “the number of tourists and visitors remained constant during the whole of Easter week, both the first and the second weekend” and she explained that “on those days, those who came here were able to enjoy the beaches as well as the various activities organised by the Tourist Department, such as the family games at the Xivert castle and the “The Lost Treasure” animated route in Capicorb which reached the expected full attendance”. The “Cultupeque” event was also greatly successful with the concert held in the plaza Vista Alegre in Alcossebre.
The assessment for the local tourism and catering businesses is extremely positive and it was pointed out that “it was decades since they could remember an Easter Week with so many visitors”. The arrival of the massive number of visitors contributes to improving the local economy thanks to the increase of consumption in establishments in different sectors and is a good indication of how things will be during the forthcoming summer season. The Tourism Department is therefore continuing to focus on actions to spread tourist activities throughout the year, such as recently setting up a new programme of tourist events based on local marine facilities, family tourism, walking and the heritage.
