“Cool Alcalà” will be back to enliven and put a festive touch to summer nights in Alcalà
The Fiestas Department is organising traditional dances in several places within the centre of Alcalà, from the 8th July and the 25th August
The Alcala-Alcossebre Council Fiestas Department is finalising a new programme for “Cool Alcala” which, like last year, will transform several parts of the Alcala town centre into traditional dance venues, enlivening Saturdays in July and August and providing alternative leisure activities for Alcala residents.
The initiative will begin on 8th July, with the Grupo Tabú playing in the plaza Juan Vilanova. On the 15th July, the Dúo Santafé will be playing for dancing in the calle Doctor Seguer. On the 22nd July, the evening will be accompanied by the Grupo Triban in the calle Francisco Sospedra. On the 5th August, in the Church Square, the Duo Elegance will be performing. And on the 12th August, they will be playing again in the Paseo Héroes de Marruecos. On the 19th August, the music will be provided by the Duo Fantasia in the calle General Cucala. “Cool Alcala” will end on 25th August, with the Nit de la Xulla, which is already included in the Patronal fiestas, with a fiesta with the Duo Fantasia in the Justo Zaragoza Square.
The Fiestas councillor, Susan Guillamón, pointed out that “through this initiative, we are trying, on the one hand, to provide alternative entertainment for the Alcala residents on Saturdays without having to leave the town to enjoy a fiesta and on the other hand, in this way, the local bars and restaurants will also benefit”.
