The Vilafames 1900 Festival will open for the ninth year on 28th April
The mayor of Vilafamés, José Pons, has repeated how important it is to broadcast the attractions of the town in view of competition and this is fundamental when events are being held.
Pons emphasised that “there is no doubt whatsoever that one of the basic principles of our strength for inland tourism is the fact that we have a wide range of events planned and we are going to continue with these”.
These statements were made by the mayor after one of the planning meetings which are being held for the 2012 Vilafames 1900 Festival.
This year, the event will be held on the 28th, 29th and 30th of April and the 1st May. It will be its ninth year, which makes it one of the highlights in Castellón province.
The mayor of Vilafamés wants to extend it and to promote the 1900 Festival throughout the Valencian provinces as far afield as Alicante.
In José Pons’ view, this festival has brought together a large number of residents in the town who are cooperating voluntarily in what this year will again be a very well attended event.
“We must highlight clearly the enthusiastic cooperation of our residents so that we make the 1900 Festival a great success and this will have a direct effect on the local economy”, he added.
To sum up, this is one more activity planned by the council, with the cooperation of residents, which sets out to offer an image of Vilafames as an entrepreneurial town at the same time as being a tourist centre.
