Alberto Romero and Ilse Martha Geldhof won the 2017 Alcossebre Trisprint
On the 23rd July Alcossebre hosted the fifth year of their Alcossebre Trisprint, with about 300 competitors taking part in this prestigious competition. In spite of the trial having to be modified and becoming a “duathlon”, because swimming was prohibited on the Las Fuentes beach, there was a very positive atmosphere on the day.
The first part was the race along the Paseo Marítimo in Las Fuentes, followed by the 22kms cycling and finally the second running section. The 7 kilometers run originally planned had to be divided into two parts, one at the beginning and the second at the end of the trial.
The first to cross the winning line was Alberto Romero in just one hour 43 seconds, whilst the second and third, Domingo Muñoz and José Luis Olmos, arrived together two minutes later.
First on the ladies’ podium was Ilse Martha Geldhof, with Rafelix Naomi de los Ángeles Martínez and Sonia Ruiz.
