The Diputación Provincial will cooperate financially with the Alcala-Alcossebre Council to resolve the closure of the Las Fuentes beach

It is calculated that the work being carried out by the company maintaining the sewage system will rise to 100,000 euros

The Castellón Diputación will cooperate financially with the Alcala-Alcossebre Council to assume the costs incurred by dealing with the problem which is causing the closure of the Las Fuentes beach, since 21st July, because of Escherichia Coli contamination from spillages found in the fresh water springs on the beach.

The Council is doing everything in its power to locate the origin of the spillage and it is calculated that the works undertaken by the sewage network maintenance company may rise to 100,000 euros.  This work includes the installation of a pumping station from the time that the decree prohibited bathing, inspection of the sewage pipe network, materials and carrying out analyses.

In view of this emergency situation, the mayor Francisco Juan requested help from the provincial body so that “they might contribute financially as, for the Council, any help will be welcome” and he explained that “the president of the Diputación, Javier Moliner, had made himself available for us and had confirmed that the Diputación will cooperated with the Council because the important thing is to find a solution as soon as possible to a problem which is affecting Alcossebre, which is such an important tourist destination for the province, with negative consequences for businesses and people who chose to come here to spend their holidays”.
