Alcala-Alcossebre Council is increasing its budget by 110,976 euros for urban improvements, municipal buildings and aid for education services

Widening the calle Irta, improvements to the sewage pipe network in the Plaza Constitución, and a new base for the SEAFI in Alcossebre, an agreement for a watch on farmland, aid for the infant school in Alcossebre, preparation of a new classroom and the Morning School at the CEIP La Mola

The Hacienda councillor, María Agut, explained that “this amount reflects the Council’s good financial management, use of resources and application of prudent criteria but always watching for ways of offering more and better services to our citizens, such as works and extremely necessary urban improvements which, in this way, we can carry out immediately without having to wait for the preparation of the 2018 budget”.

In all, 25,000 euros will be destined for works to widen the calle Irta in Alcossebre which will become safer to use and 34,000 euros to give the SEAFI (Help for Families) service a suitable location in Alcossebre.  A sum of 20,716 euros will be used to improve the sewage, increasing the separate network in the Plaza Constitución.  The council has requested the Generalitat Valenciana to assist in financing the rest of the work, which amounts to 52,000 euros.

As part of the new entries in the budget, 7,260 euros have been included for the signing of an agreement with the Club de Caza Local which will enable them to increase their watch service and prevention of environmental risks for the rural environment.

Finally, 14,000 euros are included for annual aid because of the new licensing for the Alcossebre infants 1 to 3 years old school service.  As councillor María Agut explained, “this is in addition to the facilities already reflected: building cost zero and the electricity supply at 50%, because it is important that the service can be available and, in this way, contribute to the conciliation of the families”.

Also for educational purposes, an agreement will be signed with the CEIP La Mola for 10,000 euros to create a suitable new classroom to enable the doubling up of classes to end.  “This is not a Council task but the Generalitat Valenciana should undertake it, but as the autonomous administration refuses to carry out the work, the Council is doing it to guarantee better educational quality for the pupils”, she explained.  This section has been increased to enable, should it be necessary, the signing of an agreement with the CEIP La Mola AMPA to provide the Escola Matinera service, as they did in the previous year.  “This also is not a Council task, as it should be the Generalitat Valenciana carrying it out, so we therefore hope that the autonomous administration will agree to finance 33% of the cost of the service, thus contributing the same amount as the Council and the Diputación Provincial and meaning that it will cost the parents nothing”, the councillor emphasised.
