Promotion for Castellon Airport to about 30 travel agents from the Valencian Community

The agency representatives showed interest in marketing holidays linked to the international routes offered by the airport.

Colomer pointed out that the travel agents “are great destination promoters and it is important that they are aware of the opportunities available in the province”.

Castellón airport was visited by about 30 travel agents from the Valencian Community, who are interested in getting to know the facilities and the international connections in operation, with a view to marketing holidays linked to the current regular routes.

The delegation included agents from the three provinces in the Community, all of them members of the Valencian Travel Agents Business Association (Aevav).  During the visit, representatives from the private operator Edeis and from the Aerocas public company set out the advantages of the airport, such as its good road communications, its proximity to the main tourist destinations in the province, the speed of the operations, the competitive airport taxes and free parking for users, among others.

In addition, progress with the facilities was explained, which have achieved sustained growth in traffic since the start of regular flights in September 2015.  Details were also given of the four international routes currently on offer from the airport (London, Bristol, Sofía and Bucharest), to which will be added a fifth route to Poznan (Poland) in November.

The autonomous Tourism secretary and chairman of the Aerocas public company, Francesc Colomer, expressed his satisfaction with the travel agents’ visit, “as they are great promoters of destinations and it is important that they learn firsthand about the opportunities on offer in this province”.

For his part, the chairman of Aevav, Miguel Jiménez, said he was sure that the agencies “had taken away with them a pleasant impression of Castellón airport and had appreciated the advantages it offers, such as its flexibility and accessibility”.  Jiménez indicated that the airport “represents added value for Castellón, which has a great tourism product which the agencies are interested in marketing with holidays linked to the routes the airport offers”.
