The new SEAFI will be a centre for the municipal social welfare service in Alcossebre

Preparation work has already started on the former exhibition room for the new Social Services offices.

The fitting out of the municipal exhibition room as a new SEAFI will focus the Social Services service in Alcossebre.  The work, which is being carried out through the Local Employment Plan, will include fitting out new offices and consultancy rooms for people who request assistance from the municipal experts.  Having cleared the existing material, the work has begun and it is hoped will be completed in a few weeks.

The Social Welfare councillor, Desa Pitarch, indicated that “it was very important to have a space dedicated to Social Services in Alcossebre, so that people who had to carry out processes or requested information, did not have to travel”.  When the new offices open, the municipal Social Services organisation will be restructured, with a new helper in Alcossebre and psychologist, mediator and social worker in Alcossebre.  In the Alcala SEAFI, the presence of the helper, social worker and psychologist will continue.  Pitarch said that “currently, we are providing the social worker service on Wednesdays and that of the mediator on Thursdays, in the Municipal Offices.  This new facility will allow us to provide a better service to residents and provide better resources for the experts”.
