The Alcala-Alcossebre Christmas Fair will be held on the 8th and 9th December
The Market Square will be turned into a Christmas Fair with craft, typical products, exhibitions of historic games, vinyls and cribs, acting and live music
The Ricardo Cardona Square in Alcala de Xivert, better known as the Market Square, will be decorated for Christmas again on the 8th and 9th December, for the fourth year of the Christmas Fair organised by the Commerce Department in the style of the typical Christmas markets of central European countries. It will be opened on Friday, 8th December, at 13:00 hours, and will then be open in the morning from 11:00 hours and in the evening up to 20:00 hours.
With over 20 stalls, of which the majority are local, there will be a wide range of Christmas decorations, craft, florists, ‘turrons’ and Christmas specialities, with the local mark “Pastes de Sempre” – traditional cakes and pastries – from the local bakeries taking part. The exhibitions are other strong contenders in this fair as you can visit samples of our historic games, vinyls and cribs. Then, in addition to the commercial offer, there will be presentations for spectators of all ages, including the arrival of Father Christmas, workshops for children and live Christmas music.
The Commerce councillor, Alejandra Roca, explains that “this Christmas Fair is one of the different actions which the Council carries out to energise the local commerce sector” and she pointed out that “we put a lot of effort into ensuring that this market has all the flavour and magic of Christmas and that all family members will enjoy some special days, with parents making some early Christmas purchases and children taking part in the activities”.
