Alcala-Alcossebre PP asks for financial cooperation from the Generalitat Valenciana to install a ticket sales machine at the Alcala train station
In preparation for the increase in use of the station with the increased number of trains and the reopening of the waiting room.
Alejandra Roca: “Taking into account that central Government is going to invest nearly 7 million euros, it would be ridiculous if the Generalitat refused to cooperate with 30,000 euros”.
The municipal group of the Partido Popular in Alcala-Alcossebre Council has put forward a motion for debate at the ordinary council meeting on 31st January in which they request the Generalitat Valenciana to cooperate financially with the installation of ticket vending machines for those using the Alcala train station.
The motion details that Alcala station will reopen, after seventeen years, thanks to the repeated requests from the Council and the agreement reached with Adif for them to take on the work to renovate both the exterior and inside of the station. This circumstance, together with the imminent increase in the number of trains which will link the Baix Maestrat with Castellón, which is being tripled from four to twelve a day, forecasts a definite increase in the use of the station, so that buying a ticket from a self-operated ticket vending machine would greatly facilitate passengers.
Councillor Alejandra Roca explained that “the cost of the ticket vending machine for which we are asking the Generalitat for an amount of 30,000 euros, a figure which cannot be compared with the investment of nearly 7 million euros which central Government is going to make to produce the increase in the number of trains linking us with Castellón. Taking into account the big drive from central Government, it would be ridiculous if the Generalitat refused to cooperate with 30,000 euros, knowing how convenient and how improved a facility this is going to mean for our residents”. Roca added that “we believe that all the municipal groups in the council support this motion because it is going to directly benefit our citizens”.
