Alcala PSPV wants an informative and awareness campaign for people to use the beaches properly
The campaign would make it clear partly with a video, which could be disseminated via social media and partly through a poster and leaflet campaign which would deliver the important points to tourists.

Adria Barceló, the Alcala de Xivert and Alcossebre councillor for the Municipal Socialist Group, registered a proposal in which the governing group is urged to distribute through social media an informative and awareness video on how bathers should use the beaches.
The socialist spokesperson, Joan Ronchera, stated that tourism is one of the principal drivers of our economy and all efforts made to maintain the coast in a healthy state will not be worth anything without the cooperation of those using it”. It is the reaction of the Socialist Group following the first complaints about the inappropriate behaviour of some users which has been seen happening on the beaches. Also, the socialists want the campaign to be negotiated and for a consensus to be reached by all the political groups represented in the council.
Although it is not a case of general bad behaviour, the socialists consider that setting up an informative campaign could have very satisfactory results.
It would give information about what it is permissible to do on the beach and what is not allowed. For example, by making it very clear what can be done and not be done with sun umbrellas and sun-beds.
The campaign should include making poster and leaflet information available to tourists in the municipal offices, in the tourist offices and at the tourist information points, as well as in the life-saving installations on every beach. The information should be printed in Spanish, Valencian, English and French.
The information should state that the need to keep the beach clean is essential. To ensure this, it is necessary not to make it dirty by dropping things in the water or on the sand but to make good use of the bins in the area.
There must also be information about the obligation to respect what is a natural space of great ecological value, in which a wide range of marine animals exist, above all around the rocky areas, and this is to be respected. Users must be aware that it is strictly prohibited to fish for shell fish. They must also respect the sand dunes. And of course, always take notice of the life savers instructions.
