The Local Police and the Alcala-Alcossebre Council Safety Department have intensified their actions to promote the correct use of child safety systems in cars, coinciding with the start of the school term.  For this, they are carrying out information checks among drivers and distributing a leaflet giving advice and a résumé of what type of seats or boosters correspond to the ages and weight of the children and how they should be fitted.

The chief of the Alcala Local Police, Abel Serret, explained that “Parents’ ignorance must be prevented when they need to know what restraint system is correct for each child, because prevention and awareness are very important”.

Safety councillor, Alejandra Roca, urges that “any action which increases our residents’ safety and, in this case, that of the youngest, is very worthwhile for the Council.  In this case, we think it is very positive to make it as widely spread as possible and often one is not aware of the danger a child is in if we do not use the correct system of restraint in the car”.
