This year Alcala Christmas Fair will have an ice-skating rink for the first time
In the Ricardo Cardona square on 8 th and 9 th December, with local businesses, workshops, story-
telling and a visit from Father Christmas
For the fifth year, Alcala de Xivert will hold its Christmas Fair in the Ricardo Cardona square, better known as the Market square, on the 8th and 9th December. As the mainattraction, an ice-skating rink will be set up in the centre of the square, adding to the Christmas atmosphere. The rink will be open from 11.00h to 14.00h and from 16.00h to 20.00 h and, for a reasonable ticket price, boys and girls will be able to hire ice-skates and skate for a set length of time. This year, the Fair organisation has been in the hands of a committee formed by the group of local businesses and associations who will be taking part in the fair, coordinated by the Business Department. Alejandra Roca, the department head, explained that “we have been preparing for this fair for almost a year; cooperation amongst everyone has been intense to make everything the best it can be”. The fair, which will be opened on Saturday, 8th at 11.00h, will have businesses dedicated to Christmas decor, florists, local bakeries offering their “Pastes de Sempre” mark products, organic foods, as well as local associations. There will also be a living Nativity with local boys and girls, workshops for children, musical events, story-telling and the visit by Father Christmas.Roca invites residents of Alcala-Alcossebre to take part because “coming to this Christmas Fair is a good way of supporting our local businesses, at the same time as making Christmas purchases and children can take part in all the activities planned for them”.
