Joan Ronchera will be the socialist candidate for mayor of Alcala-Alcossebre
The candidate’s aspirations are to make an effective change in the municipality with a a “realistic, feminist, and solid future project”

Joan Ronchera will head the PSPV-PSOE list for the Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Mayor’s office at the next municipal elections. This was ratified on 12th January by the Assembly of Militants, which unanimously supported the candidature of the current spokesperson for the Municipal Socialist Group. Ronchera thanked those present for their trust in him and said he was “very excited” by the “task of making the change needed in our municipality effective”.
“My aim is that Alcala and Alcossebre turn a page and goes forward along the path of social and economic progress”, the candidate said, and went on to say that he would put forward a “realistic, inclusive, solid and futuristic” project, capable of overcoming the “dead and directionless” model lead by the Partido Popular and the current mayor Francisco Juan.
“The change is possible and we the socialists will be there. The best guarantee is our daily work”, he stated to those gathered at the meeting, at the same time he applauded and thanked “the tenacious and continuous work” of the socialist team on the Council.
“I am taking this step to bring solutions to our town’s problems; I want to dedicate myself to adding and not to taking something away. I am always going to do this through dialogue, looking for consensus and the greatest respect for all the political forces and, of course, always prioritising the general interests of the municipality”.
AN AMBITIOUS AND FEMINIST LIST
With the election of Joan Ronchera at the head of the list, Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre socialists have set the electoral wheels in motion for the elections on 26th May. “Right from today we are starting to prepare the lists and programme with those who aspire with us to be the political force most voted for and most valued by our residents”. Along this line, he stated that “I will work to present a solvent and very feminist electoral list, in which women will have an undeniable prominence”. “My aim is to present for the first time in our municipality a list which, besides being egalitarian, will be inclusive.
PROFILE
Joan Ronchera is a young entrepreneur, 31 years old, who runs a small local business. Since 2015 he has been the leader of the Municipal Socialist Group on Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre Council. Educationally, he has a degree in Political Sciences and Administration and a master in Public Management from the Barcelona Autonomous University, studies which he is currently complementing with a degree in Finance and Accounting at the Jaume I University in Castellón. Within the party management at a provincial level, he directs the Administration Secretariat and Human Resources.
