Alcala-Alcossebre is repairing and renewing facilities on the beaches in preparation for Holy Week

Alcala-Alcossebre Services Department is preparing the town’s beaches ready for Holy Week.  Debris – brought up by the tides and frequent sea movements during winter - is being cleared away and the beaches are being levelled, removing stones and boulders which could be dangerous for users.  New this year, fifteen footbaths will be installed next to the existing shower trays.  Services councillor, José Ángel Traver, said that “with users asking us for footbaths, the Council decided to make this investment and install them”.  Waste bins and wooden walkways will also be installed.

On the other hand, on the Las Fuentes beach, it is planned to channel the springs which cross the sand, as has been done in other years, but, for technical reasons, this work will not be carried out until closer to summer, as a precaution against any bad weather making the work difficult or putting its result in danger.
