Alcala-Alcossebre Council governing group has announced the names of its departmental heads. There will be an extraordinary council meeting on Wednesday, 26th June, during which the delegation of areas and departments will be approved, as well as the governing committee, Mayoral deputies and the appointment of representatives in professional bodies.
Departmental heads are as follows:
Francisco Juan: Mayor, Budgets and Employment.
José Miguel Martorell: Economic Promotion, Business, Town planning and Works.
María Agut: Culture, Treasury, Staff, Activities.
Jaime Albert: Tourism, Police, Sports.
Marien Traver: Social Welfare, Equality, Health.
Juan Carlos Barceló: Services, Agriculture, Environment.
Selene Blázquez: Fiestas, Education, Youth, New Technologies, Citizen Participation.
Among principal new ideas, an Equality Department is being created, aiming to manage all activities to promote complete equality and eliminate domestic violence. There will also be a Department for New Technologies which will principally take charge of continuing the work of incorporating electronic media in the day to day life of the town hall and promoting new technological tools to improve the lives of residents. Another new plan is a councillor with links to the community of foreigners, a role for Jaime Albert.
Mayor Francisco Juan will continue preparing the municipal budgets and confirms that “we shall continue along the same line of management which has enabled us to re-float the municipal economy and to continue adding investments and increasing spending dedicated to matters of a social character”. He will also continue managing the Local Employment Plans, which have enabled local unemployed people, to find paid work.
