Alcala-Alcossebre Council and the IES Serra d’Irta have signed a cooperation agreement making it possible for pupils on the Shared Classroom Programme (Programa Aula Compartida - PAC) being taught in the centre this year, to take part in different activities and workshops developing tasks of a municipal character such as gardening, maintenance, sport and gastronomy. The PAC combines both reading activities in the classroom, with activities outside the educational centre during which, in this case, Alcala-Alcossebre Council will cooperate. The aim of the Programme is to reduce the tendency for absence from school and to increase pupils’ motivation, enabling them to exceed their academic and personal expectations, offering them the possibility to strengthen their apprenticeship and to acquire social skills in a different environment from their usual one.
The signing of the agreement, which took place in the Council, was attended by executives from the IES Serra d’Irta, teaching staff and pupils. On behalf of the Council, Education councillor, Selene Blázquez, pointed out that “we think that this can be a positive experience for the council and for the IES and, above all, for the pupils”
