The Alcala PSPV-PSOE denounces the announcement of a new tourism plan when the current one has not been met

The Alcala de Xivert-Alcossebre municipal socialist group has demonstrated their surprise at the governing Partido Popular group’s announcement of a new Tourism Strategic Plan when “the majority of the objectives of the current plan have not been achieved”.

Socialist councillor Tina Arnau explains that “among the plans which have not been fulfilled are the treatment of façades in the old hub of Alcala, the ornamentation of both centres, the incentives for entrepreneurs, the training for artisan trades, the installation of posts and solar energy lighting points, encouraging sustainability in transport and investing in new management technologies”.

Arnau also said that other core matters “pending” from the current plan are “to work to convert Alcala-Alcossebre into an Intelligent Destination – investing in new technologies for tourist management and information – and the development of apps, which would convert a visit to out cultural heritage and old centre into a unique experience, to help to encourage weekend tourism with cultural vocation”.  Nevertheless, “this has not been achieved”, states the socialist councillor.

Other matters which have not been carried out would be: the exploitation of heritage resources, the creation of tourist packages, encouraging new gastronomic days and cultural events relating to the almond trees, olives, oranges and the melon and improvements to the commercial offer.

For all this, “surprising that they are hanging the medal for having fulfilled the strategic plan, when the principal points of revitalisation and tourism progress have not been met.  Now, they want to invest in a new study when they have not fulfilled a large part of the current one”, the municipal socialist group ended.

This is to work on incentives for entrepreneurs and training courses for artisan trades, products with zero kilometres.
