Following the resignation on 31st October of the previous tenant who managed the service, Alcala municipal nursery reopens its doors on Monday 2nd December. The Council has awarded the tenancy to a new company and has carried out improvements during November by painting the premises and renovating the furniture and equipment in the nursery. The new company opens its doors on Monday, 2nd December, and held a talk for interested families on Thursday, 28th November and an open day on Saturday 30th November so that they could visit and show their children where they will be going.
“Throughout all this, families have been kept up to date so that they would know when the service would be reinstated and insisting that the Council’s objective was to complete the processes as soon as possible, which it has done”, Education councillor, Selene Blázquez, emphasised.
With the aim of putting it on a par with the Alcossebre nursery – also managed by a company through renting the facilities – the Council has increased the financial assistance to the successful company, with a total of 14,400 euros per annum. Further, help for the families using the nursery has been increased, in accordance with the interprofessional minimum salary.
Mayor Francisco Juan noted that “we are continuing our policy of counting on municipal buildings in which services can be provided at reasonable prices for our residents who, if they don’t have access to them, would have to turn to much dearer private services”.
