The Consorcio Provincial de Residuos mobile recycling centre comes to Alcossebre

The Zone I Consorcio for Waste visited Alcossebre to let residents learn about the services this itinerant recycling centre can provide.
During the visit, mayor Francisco Juan Mars declared that “the consorcio’s recycling centres network ensures that recycling will become easier than ever before.  The fact that some of these facilities are mobile like this one here, by coming to residents, encourages us to increase the effectiveness and possibilities provided by the service”.  For the mayor, the Consorcio’s mobile recycling centres are of vital importance for Alcossebre, given the vast influx of visitors during the summer, increasing the needs regarding the removal and recycling of waste.
The mobile unit will visit Alcossebre once a week and this frequency will increase during the summer to twice a week.  This will start in June.  The mobile recycling centre is in addition to the permanent site in Alcala de Xivert, and will enable residents on the coast to recycle their waste in a controlled manner.
The mobile recycling centre is a self-supporting vehicle with solar panels to provide the energy for its operation.  The facility has a computerised system recording access, and can also collect information about the users to give those who recycle most a reduction in their refuse collection bill.
Regarding this, Rafael Trujillo, Environmental councillor, spoke of the logo “The more you recycle, the less you pay”, which offers recompense in the form of discounts for residents who recycle most.  It should be pointed out that Alcala de Xivert is one of the towns in the province with the highest level of recorded recycling, thanks to the environmental awareness of its residents.
