Alcala de Xivert Council has started work to create new municipal offices in Alcossebre, as local mayor, Francisco Juan Mars, announced.
The work will improve municipal services and access for residents, and will cost about 100,000 Euros.  The mayor explained that “the current offices are too small and we cannot offer some of the services needed in a tourist town such as ours, where there are so many people throughout the year, not only in summer”.
This work is part of the improvements which the governing team is carrying out to the municipal offices and services, so that the current municipal offices can be used to extend the coastal town’s Health Centre “meaning that we have to relocate the offices”, resulting in the local executive considering that it was best to relocate the offices to a new building.
Town Planning councillor, Jose Colom, pointed out that the new municipal office is situated in the central part of Alcossebre, in the Avenida de Valencia, where the services will be available to the public, as well as being the centre for the collection of monies due to the Council.
These new offices will also accommodate the Local Police post “on a convenient, accessible ground floor”, Colom described.
