Alcala-Alcossebre Council will pay tribute to Jordan Sospedra for his career

Alcala-Alcossebre Council has organised an event paying tribute to a local resident, Jordan Sospedra, for his sports career, and professional triumphs won, among which is his contribution to the gold medal won by the Spanish Basketball Team, as physiotherapist to the team.  The event will take place on Sunday 22^nd December, at 11am, in the Alcala Espai d’Oci and will be completely open to the public so that everyone can be present for this recognition of Jordan Sospedra.  During the event, his start in the different local sports clubs will be remembered and different important moments of his career.  The Mayor Francisco Juan emphasised “the fact that Jordan studied and started his sport career in our town must be recognised and that he has reached the highest level in his professional life.  This gives us proof that by working and with effort, one can go very far and we believe that it is very positive to pass this on, particularly to all young people”.

Jordan Sospedra started his career as a basketball player in the Torreblanca B.C. later passing to the ranks of the Castellón TAU and Valencian Basket clubs respectively.  During the last two seasons, he played for his original club, as the MVP of the league in his category for the last two years.  As a physiotherapist, his work in the Valencia Basket club opened the doors to the Spanish National team for him.  Together with the so-called golden generation, he made us excited with a bronze medal in the 2017 European games and, more recently, with the gold medal in the World games in China.
