Alcala-Alcossebre Council is focussing on making the camino L’Atall passable after the storm
Throughout the morning work was carried out to clean and clear away the debris and traffic is already able to pass along one of the sections of the camino L’Atall between the Caragador and Romana beaches

Returning to normality as soon as possible: that was the aim emphasised by the Alcala-Alcossebre Council in planning the clearance of debris and cleaning which were carried out in the camino L’Atall. Thanks to the machinery contracted by the Council and the machine from the Diputación Provincial, it was possible to clear the section between the Cargador and Romana beaches and it is now open to traffic in both directions. Work continued taking materials away and draining the Estopet river bed and removing material in the Campsite area to continue towards Capicorb. In some cases the work was particularly difficult in the sections which were completely flooded or with broken paving due to the storm’s effect.
Municipal engineers are carrying out a global evaluation of the damage to be able to deal with the investment which will be required to recuperate the worst damaged infrastructures: the sections of paving washed away in the Camp site area and the Serradal beach and wooden walkways which link the Cargador and Romana beaches and the Romana beach platform. The Council is working together with the Costas Provincial Service to be able to re-establish the infrastructures as soon as possible and to ask for the assistance available with other administrations. Mayor Francisco Juan emphasised that “once again, the Council will make the effort to return our shore to its usual normality so that we might be able to count on the infrastructures again which make Alcossebre’s beaches a unique space and so valued”.
