Alcala de Xivert Council will refurbish it and improve accessibility to the bar in the Alcala Pensioners’ Hall
The work will give better natural light to the café and bar area, renew the facilities and remove architectural barriers

On Wednesday 5th February, Alcala de Xivert Council governing committee approved the contract for the works to refurbish and improve accessibility in the bar-café in the Alcala Pensioners’ Hall, as well as the call for tenders for the work through a simplified open process. The work has a budget of 41,000 euros and will result in noticeable improvement and modernisation of the facilities, as well as adapting them to meet current regulations for accessibility. The work will consist of renovating the electric and plumbing facilities, improving illumination with natural light by constructing a new skylight in the outside part and constructing a new glazed internal façade, larger entrance door and renewing the aspect of the whole café installing new tiling and painting. They will also adapt the bathroom to comply with accessibility regulation. The construction of a glazed area which will link the bar with the events hall at the Pensioners’ Hall. Companies interested in carrying out the work have 10 working days to present their offers from its publication. After this period, the work will be adjudicated and it is hoped that it will be possible to start it as soon as possible.
Today Mayor Francisco Juan met the president of the Alcala Pensioners’ Association, José Vicente Vinuesa, to give him all the information on the work which, in the words of the Mayor, “will mean a noticeable improvement to the facilities for the Pensioners’ Association of which we are sure they will appreciate, as a body which has always cooperated with the municipality and is open to continue doing so”.
