Alcala-Alcossebre Council is modifying the financial calendar in order to reduce the burden of tax payments for residents during the state of emergency, so that they can use their financial funds for their basic expenses.  Having sent the corresponding request to the Diputación Provincial to postpone the charging of taxes and delegates, the calendar remains thus:

The first period, which was set to run from 16th March and the 18th May, is extended to 20th June for the payment of vehicle tax.  Should this be payable by direct debit, and have been charged, citizens can return the receipt and pay it up to the 20th June, without charge.

The second period, from 5th May to 6th July, is free from charges so that citizens will not have to face paying them.

The third period, from 6th July to 7th September, for 50% of the urban IBI, waste and drainage and the Consorcio de Basuras taxes will be payable.

The fourth period, from the 15th September to the 16th November, the remaining 50% of the urban IBI, the rustic IBI and the IAE will be payable.

Other treasury measures will also be adopted such as the postponement of the capital gains tax for three months, the suspension of payment for occupying the public way for the whole of 2020 and returning to those who have paid it already for Market stalls, the proportional amount for those days when it has not been held, and the return of part of the subscriptions for the municipal sports activities pupils and EPA proportional to the classes which were not held.  The Diputación Provincial, while the state of emergency continues, will not process any cases of pressure or embargo.

The Mayor Francisco Juan said that “our aim is to reduce the tax charges on families and businesses, while the state of emergency lasts, as many have seen their financial capacity reduced”.
