Alcala de Xivert reopens its street market on Friday, 8th May
Solely for the sale of food products and essentials
Alcala-Alcossebre Council is reopening the Friday morning markets in Alcala de Xivert, solely for stalls selling foodstuffs and essentials. The Council has followed the recommendations of the Health Department and has prepared a security and hygiene team, together with the Local Police, to guarantee that the regulations are complied with and to be able to guarantee the greatest safety to all residents and those manning the stalls. Some of the principal measures are: all the stalls will be in the plaza Ricardo Cardona, maintaining a lateral distance of 2.5 metres and a frontal of 6 metres between them, access to the public will only be through the calle Juan Barceló as the accesses will be continuously controlled by the Local Police so that there are no gatherings of people. The ground will also be marked out to organise those waiting to make purchases at the stalls and, as a hygiene measure, the whole square will be disinfected before and after each market.
Regarding those people who come to make purchases, they must wash their hands with hydrogel before accessing the market – there will be dispensers at the access control point – and the use of masks is recommended.
