The Council is demanding the Tourist Department to make Alcossebre the sub-headquarters for the CdT

Alcala-Alcossebre Council has approached the autonomous Tourism secretary, Francesc Colomer, to demand that the Valencian Community Department gives priority to processing the agreement so that the Alcossebre CESAL can finally be made into the sub-headquarters for the Tourism Dynamism Centre – CdT of Castellón. The Mayor, Francisco Juan, has stated that “ at present, the tourism and hostelry sectors need more support than ever from the institutions, it is essential that the Alcossebre CESAL starts to operate as a sub-headquarters of the CdT de Castellón to offer training courses and support to the businesses and their staff”. The council started the procedure in 2016 and, finally, the Valencian Generalitat included in its 2020 budgets a nominative grant of 30,000 euros for the kitchen equipment and computer material in the centre. On 17th March, the Council sent the technical report for the assessment of technical and kitchen equipment, as well as the request for the agreement and no reply has yet been received.
“In the extraordinary situation in which we are living, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it would be immensely useful for the Alcossebre CESAL now to count on the necessary material to be able to carry out training courses – either online or being present with all the safety and hygiene measures – aimed at businesspeople and workers, both in hostelry and in shops. We in the council have fixed as a priority aid to local establishments and to facilitate the necessary tools to train and adapt themselves to the new reality of consumption and of the safety measures which the pandemic demands”, the Mayor insisted emphasising that “I am convinced that the Autonomous Tourism Secretariat positively assesses the fact that the Council is offering this place so that the workers in the tourist sector in the north of the province can be trained and given an impulse in the process so that it can become reality as soon as possible”.
