The Provincial Tourist Board has chosen Alcala-Alcossebre as the pilot municipality for drawing up a Contingency Plan for Beaches and an Emergency Plan, containing the new measures to guarantee safety and hygiene on the beaches.  A consultant will draw up both plans, based on the Alcossebre beaches and then the models will be passed to the rest of the coastal municipalities in the province so that they can be applied.  These plans will start being drawn up very soon.

The reason for selecting Alcala-Alcossebre is the diversity of the typologies on its beaches, with the municipality having town beaches, natural beaches and integrated coves in the Sierra d’Irta Natural Park.  This will be used as an example for the rest of the municipalities when taking these plans as the reference.

Alcala-Alcossebre Tourism Department, was working to implement the guidance set out by the Generalitat Valenciana on matters such as the control of capacity, control of accesses and the life-saving service operation and it is now cooperating with the Board in every way possible to develop the plans.

“We regard very positively that the Provincial Board has selected Alcala-Alcossebre as the pilot municipality for preparing the Plans and this will facilitate all the Councils in which measures must be adopted and how to apply them”, Mayor Francisco Juan emphasised.  “With the situation in which the pandemic has left us, it is essential that all the administrations play their part and Councils are helped in every way possible”, he concluded.
