Alcala-Alcossebre Council has announced that the festivals and cultural events which formed part of the programme during the months of June and July have been cancelled.  In every case, this measure has been taken to guarantee safety as they were events which bring together a large number of people, resulting in making it extremely complicated for them to comply with social distancing were they to be held.  Therefore, the San Juan celebrations have been cancelled and vigilance is being maximised to prevent individuals from making fires on the beaches.  Similarly, the Fashion Parade, the Alcossebre Encant and Circo Babakus Festivals will not take place.  Also, with the agreement of the organising body, the Capicorb fiestas are cancelled.

“Our priority is to guarantee the safety of our residents and visitors and, therefore, just like many other municipalities, we believe that we cannot take risks and we must support cancelling events which would involve crowds of the public”, Mayor Francisco Juan explained.  “We are preparing a diary of alternative festive events, at which large groups of people will not be present and which will take place in August and September but always keeping caution in mind and watching how the situation evolves”, he stated.
