Alcala de Xivert swimming pool to reopen on 23rd June
The capacity will be controlled and limited to 72 people and users must follow the hygiene and safety recommendations
Alcala de Xivert swimming pool will open its doors from 23rd June, applying a preventive protocol against COVID-19 and all users will have to comply with this. Among the measures which will have to be adopted are obligatory disinfection of feet and hands at the entrance to the facility, obligatory use of flip-flops and showers before entering the water. At the entrance, each user will receive a bag in which to put the waste they generate which must be thrown away on leaving the facility. Markings on the ground indicating the direction to walk, access to the swimming area and safe distancing, must be respected at all times.
Regarding cleaning the facilities, complete disinfection will be carried out every day, before each opening. Just to facilitate carrying out the cleaning tasks, the opening times will be reduced and will be from 10am to 1pm during the mornings and 4pm and 8pm during the afternoons.
The capacity will be limited to 72 people and this will be controlled by issuing tickets at the time of entering. Once users have spent more than two hours at the facility, they will have to leave it so that their places can be taken by later arrivals. Access to the changing rooms will be limited to 30% of its original capacity (3 people per cloakroom) and will only be accessible when strictly necessary. It will not be possible to use the showers in the cloakrooms. Users will be able to stay together in the same area of sunbeds as long as they are from one household with a maximum of 4 people. If they are not from the same household, they will have to respect safe distancing.
The area of the swimming pool where classes are held will remain marked out by buoys so that people with free access cannot interfere with those in the classes. This year, the number of courses and participants has been reduced just to guarantee compliance with the capacity control. The available courses are “Swimming for the elderly”, “Aquaerobics” and “Swimming Maintenance” and will start from 29th June.
Sports councillor, Jordi Batiste, said that “we hope that all users will respect the established hygiene and safety measures because we all have to be involved in complying with them to the maximum” and he emphasised “the effort which the Council is making by increasing the disinfection measures, capacity control and signage, so that the facility is completely ready”. Batiste reminded that “the municipal swimming pool has renovated its cloakrooms and improved accessibility by installing ramps”.
