The Local Police and the Alcala-Alcossebre Guardia Civil have joined forces to form a team to prevent crowds of people gathering on Alcossebre beaches to celebrate the San Juan night.  The Council has already cancelled the traditional events which are held at this time, such as the street fireworks, the bonfire and the fireworks display.  The preventive team, formed by five Guardia Civil and Local Police patrols, will be at the entrances to the largest beaches, to inform residents and visitors that holding dinners, bonfires and large gatherings are prohibited. The patrols will start from 20.00h, above all aiming to provide information and act to dissuade people.  Access to the beaches will be allowed to single people or small groups, controlling the capacity.

“What we are trying to prevent is large gatherings of people because we must remind them that everyone must maintain the safe distance of being 1.5 metres apart on the beaches”, Police councillor, Selene Blázquez, stated.
