Alcala-Alcossebre Council is including five new car parks, with a total of 265 places, in the central area of Alcossebre, in order to make parking in the area easier.  The new car parks are in the Avenida Valencia, two in the calle Irta, the calle Irta side street and in calle Alcalà.  In order to obtain these plots, the council reached agreements with the owners to cede their use temporarily and for the Council to take on fitting them out and marking them.

These car parks are additional to those already existing in the calle Colón – next to the Alcossebre CESAL – and in the camino L’Atall, in the area known as Roquer Martí, between the Cargador and Romana beaches.  In fact, this last car park is also being enlarged with 40 more spaces.

It must be remembered that, in the calle Sant Benet, short duration parking spaces have been prepared for people who are shopping in the centre of Alcossebre, to make loading the car easier.

“Within the measures adopted because of COVID-19, we have set up partial pedestrianisation in the centre of Alcossebre, so that safe distancing can be carefully maintained to boost activity in the hospitality and commercial establishments.  This measure is complemented with the preparation of five new car parks in areas very close to the centre.  In this way, everyone who comes by car will be able to park it and walk to the pedestrian area”, Mayor Francisco Juan explained.
