The Alcala-Alcossebre Local Police and Guardia Civil fined 12 people who they found without a mask in a public space not respecting a safe distance with other people, when they should have been wearing one. These sanctions from the authority carry financial fines which vary from 100 to 200 euros.
Six Local Police and Guardia Civil patrols were carrying our observation on foot during the weekend in pedestrian and public spaces in order to ensure compliance with the safety measures to prevent COVID-19 infection. These patrols will continue to be carried out by them throughout the summer season, so that they can warn and, should it arise, fine those who do not comply with the regulation.
Local Police chief, Abel Serret, emphasised that “it had been noticed that there was important awareness of the use of the mask during the day, both in pedestrian areas and in public spaces and businesses. However, during the night, less use of the mask was detected, above all in groups of young people”.
“We request all our residents and those visiting us, please, to comply with the safety measures and that, as a precaution, they wear the masks and respect the distance. Municipalities are making a serious effort adapting to all the protocols, applying measures in our buildings and public spaces, controlling compliance with the measures and it is necessary that this awareness is unanimous for everyone”, Mayor Francisco Juan said.
