Alcala-Alcossebre Council is taking on a Youth expert to coordinate the actions aimed at young people
Jordí Batiste: “To have a Youth expert will enable us to improve the opportunities for our young people at every level”

Alcala-Alcossebre Council has added the position of an expert to coordinate the youth policies which will be driven by the council and the Valencian Institute for Youth (IVAJ). Thus, the Youth department, led by councillor Jordí Batiste, will have this new expert who will have functions to coordinate and implant new policies aimed at the local young people. His inclusion was made possible thanks to the determination of the Youth Department to reinforce new actions for young people and the investments from the IVAJ aimed at improving the policies for young people which are to be carried out by the councils. Also, it will have relation with the IVAJ and with the person contracted for support in the Xarxa Jove, participating in training sessions and in the coordination meetings which are being set up. On the other hand, he will be charged with promotion within the municipal ambit on the Pla Jove, assessing and cooperating in the preparation, implementation, continuity and evaluation of the programme at a local level. Thus, this person being included in the Youth team will facilitate contact and cooperation among associations and groups of young people and different administrations. Regarding volunteering, he will have to cooperate with the existing bodies for its promotion, as well as in the awareness campaigns and values education, using all the resources at his disposal.
The leader Jordí Batiste insisted that “to have a new expert for Youth will add an important factor when creating more opportunities for the young people, in all environments” and reminded that “we also have a short term task to start the construction of the new Casal Jove which will be situated in the new Alcossebre Espai d’Oci”.
