Alcalà-Alcossebre Council drives a training course on equality and domestic violence for the staff
Among the actions for the Municipal Equality Plan with funds from the State Pact Against Domestic Violence
Alcala-Alcossebre Council continues developing the various actions planned in the Municipal Equality Plan, approved in 2019, of which the objective is to achieve real equality in the work framework of the council as well as using a protocol, and acting in the case of possible cases of domestic violence. One of the points in the Plan is to promote training actions for members of the municipal staff and, thus, this week they have provided a course in “Domestic violence as a consequence of inequality”, given by Luisa Velasco, ex-Police inspector and specialist in Domestic violence. Due to the COVID-19 situation the course was presented on line in the webinar format. The course was financed using funds from the State Pact Against Domestic Violence.
Municipal workers from different spheres, such as the Local Police, the Social Services department, Town planning, the Agricultural Chamber, Staff, the Local Development Agency and intercultural mediator took part in the training, dealing with aspects such as covering up inequality, male chauvinism and domestic violence as an expression of inequality.
