Alcala-Alcossebre Council is doubling the number of monitors for after school activities in the educational centres

[Img #79709]Alcala-Alcossebre Council Education Department will continue guaranteeing the after school activities at the CEIP Lo Campanar and CEIP La Mola schools, increasing the number of monitors from the six  of previous years to twelve.  The Council will ask for applications for grants for contracting the six monitors positions and they will add the municipal playcentre monitors.  Also, through the assistance granted by the Valencian Generalitat for After School Activities, four more monitors will be contracted, thus making a total of twelve.  The after-school activities will take place between 15.30 hours and 17.00 hours to comply with the school timetable, making a continuous day.  The sessions will include assistance with school work as well as leisure activities, depending on the needs of the group.

Regarding the safety measures to prevent COVID-19 infection, the regulations included in the Contingency Plan for each education centre will be followed, respecting the group bubbles in the case of pupils in lower years and respecting the safety measures in the case of pupils in upper years who are able to share space.

Education councillor, Selene Blázquez, said that “doubling the number of monitors allows us to have more groups so that the attention can be more personalised, as well as guaranteeing compliance with all the safety measures.  We believe that continuing to offer this after school activities service is essential to continue guaranteeing family wellbeing”.
